Wapsewsipi

Wapsewsipi includes an Indian Affairs survey reserve map of my reserve Swan River and photo of my mother and my kokum and mosum, Della and Sam Sound. The rips in the work show the colonial violence that my family, and other Indigenous families, have experienced including residential school intergenerational trauma, stolen languages, and forced displacement from our territories. The artwork holds loss, grief, longing and memory.
